SUPERMAN 4K Trailer Screenshots Reveal A Closer Look At The DCU's Man Of Tomorrow And His Allies And Enemies

The first full trailer for Superman landed a little earlier today, and we now have a gallery of 4K screenshots from the sneak peek.

While we're sure you've already lost track of how many times you've watched the rousing preview, these highlight some key moments and characters, including David Corenswet's Man of Tomorrow.

While we'll be bringing you a full trailer breakdown a little later today, one of the biggest talking points has to seeing the "Justice Gang" in action. That's what we're calling Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Mr. Terrific based on toy listings. Whether it's their official team name remains to be seen.

The villainous Lex Luthor also takes centre stage, as does The Engineer and Ultraman/the Hammer of Boravia (who may or may not be the same "person").

The rest of the supporting cast doesn't get much of the spotlight, though that is indeed Eve Teschmacher taking a selfie while Supes takes on Boravia's superpowered warrior. We also finally meet Ma and Pa Kent, with Krypto getting a fair bit to do at points as well.

"This movie is all about Clark Kent’s humanity," filmmaker James Gunn revealed last December. "Yes, he is an alien from another planet who is super powerful but he is also deeply, deeply human. He has emotions and every day he wakes up and tries to make the best choices that he can and sometimes he fails – and that is what this movie is about."

"This movie is about a complex character and I think that is something that audiences are going to be really surprised by," he added.

Take a closer look at these new Superman screenshots in the X posts below.

Superman, DC Studios' first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures.

In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.

The movie stars David Corenswet in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

Also appearing are Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Neva Howell, and Milly Alcock.

Superman arrives in theaters on July 11, 2025.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - really hate the cinema work with gunn, far too much movment with heavy zoom ins and outs that just pulls me outt of the film. makes me sick, Didn't like it in the guardians and sadly it looks like hes doing the same thing with soup. :(

@HashTagSwagg - Yeah, it’s called a “fight,” or an “argument.” It’s what happens when a conflict manifests between two people in an adult relationship.

Superman cares about the preservation of life above all else, and becomes frustrated when his saving lives conflicts with political realities or social expectations. He becomes more frustrated when those political realities or social expectations are pointed out to him by Lois of all people, the one person who he expected would have his back, but since she is Lois Lane, Pulitzer-winning reporter in this scene, she has to wear the hat of the mature, politically aware adult. He was expecting his life-partner, and what he got was a tough-as-nails reporter, which knocked him off his game, hence the reaction. He was expecting a bit of playful fun and some softball questions, and she went and brought her A-game, and it surprised him. He was expecting support, and he was challenged, instead.

What makes Superman so admirable is also a sort of weakness…his naïveté, almost a simple innocence, which leads him to do “the right thing” without thinking of the nuanced consequences of his actions. Lois is a bit more mature than he is, in the sense that she understands the more “adult” aspects of these types of situations. She sees all the angles, and he only really sees one…that is to say, “save lives, do the right thing.”

The scene is great, makes complete sense, gives a great showcase for both actors, and basically explains everything you need to know about these two in about forty seconds.

@HashTagSwagg - I'm disappointed with this depiction too...

SuperMAN should be able to control his emotions especially when he is only having a heated debate. This makes him look overly emotional and even bested by "intrepid reporter" Lois...
It reinforces one of my many concerns with Gunn. He cannot write/depict grown men. They always come across as childish and emotionally unstable.
Whereas all his female counterparts are more even keeled and stoic. Making them undermine the men.
Just look at his Guardians flicks... There's your playbook.

In my opinion, this trailer is the best representation of the final product, but it has done very little to inspire hope in me that this will be a quintessential Superman.

HashTagSwagg - 5/15/2025, 1:39 PM
@DrDReturns - I liked his first Guardians film and accepted that dumbing down for those characters, given their circumstances but now I see him doing the same thing for Superman (of all people) and it's just made me realise, he isn't dumbing it down for story purposes, he dumbs all his characters down solely to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

DrDReturns - 5/15/2025, 1:56 PM
@HashTagSwagg - I agree. To expand upon what you said: it "worked" for the Guardians because they were no-names without a preexisting depiction or even fanbase for that matter. It's definitely Gunn's style. No way around it...

Look at "The Suicide Squad" and now the biggest man-child "Peacemaker". All male characters are depicted as goofy infantile and emotional.

Superman always seeking to do good is great. Sure. But he also needs a STRONG heart and critical thinking. This depiction (thus far) makes him look like a youth without restraint. Whereas earthbound Lois is more emotionally and intellectually equipped.

Essentially, it reeks of softening, weakening and ultimately sidelining Superman so that there can be forced drama and Lois can have a role/function.

Mark my words. Superman will save the day, but not without the help of Lois...

Does anyone else get the feeling that this was 100% written for Chris Pratt to play the titular character and when the studio said “absolutely fuсking not”, Gunn didn’t change a goddamn thing?

Hmmm...I'm not seeing it. 🤔

What in this portrayal of Clark's personality remind you of Chris Pratt?

He doesn't seem anything like a typical Pratt character and he's no where near as obnoxiously immature as Starlord.

Ha! Okay, well that scene did have him in a heated discussion with Lois and her combative techniques. I'm curious how he'll portray "Clark" to get a read on him.

I guess I'd need to see more but I will say that I'm just glad Pratt isn't Superman. 😂
